Nearby Attractions

The hotel is in the Ronda district, a more modern part of city about 15 minutes’ walk from the historic centre and the imposing Renaissance cathedral.

Granada’s star attraction is the magnificent Alhambra Palace, a Moorish masterpiece that mostly dates back to the 14th century. Booking ahead is essential in high season, and tickets typically sell out months in advance.

Just to the south of the Alhambra is the Realejo neighbourhood, the former Jewish quarter that is known for its pretty whitewashed architecture and walled gardens. Head in the opposite direction and you’ll reach the Albaicín, an atmospheric maze of medieval Moorish streets that enjoys fantastic views of the Alhambra.

Description

There are 367 recently renovated rooms and suites, decorated in a warm and contemporary colour palette of crisp whites and subtle earthy tones. All rooms include satellite HDTV, free WiFi, mini bar, safe and tea/coffee making facilities, and you can upgrade for extra facilities such as a private balcony or a whirlpool bath.

The hotel has both an indoor and a heated outdoor pool, relatively rare in Granada, plus a gym, paddle tennis courts and a kids’ play area. The appealing spa includes a sauna, Turkish bath, Jacuzzi and thermal circuit, and offers a range of revivifying treatments.

El Rincón de Vicente is the hotel’s main restaurant, serving Andalusian classics and offering a very reasonably priced menú del día option for lunch. There is also a snack bar near the outdoor pool and an indoor cafeteria that turns into a bar in the evenings.

Nightlife in Granada

Most visitors to Granada come here for the city’s fascinating Moorish heritage and the spectacular Alhambra Palace, but this is also a dynamic 21st century city with a diverse and vibrant nightlife scene. You could spend a whole evening just hopping from bar to bar, making the most of the fact that most places include free tapas with each drink. The streets of the old city reverberate to the sound of flamenco, but there are also plenty of bars and clubs where you can enjoy more modern sounds, including LGBT-friendly venues that attract a mixed local and international crowd.
