The aptly named Myconian Utopia sits perched above the gorgeous Elia Beach, gazing out across the gentle blue swell of the Aegean Sea.
It takes a lot to stand out on famously fashion-conscious Mykonos, but this head-turning boutique retreat gets our vote as one of the sexiest hotels on the island. Hand-cut stone baths, driftwood furniture and organic forms add a beachy twist to the classic whitewashed Cyclades vibe, and the poolside views are simply stunning.
The south coast location offers a degree of calm that is sometimes lacking elsewhere on the island, but a late-night shuttle service into Mykonos Town means you don’t have to miss out on partying if you’re in the mood. Add in Relais & Châteaux-endorsed dining and a superb spa and you’ve got a recipe for the perfect Greek island escape.
Includes return economy flights. Two people sharing a room for 7 nights, departing in May 2018. Contact us for your specific requirements. From price for guidance only, all subject to availability.
- Beautiful location overlooking Elia Beach
- Romantic rooms, suites & villas with views of the Aegean Sea
- Relais & Châteaux endorsed dining at the Pavillion Restaurant
- Elemis and Kerstin Florian treatments at the stunning Thalasso Spa
- Complimentary shuttle service to/from Mykonos Town
Myconian Utopia is at the top of a hill, about a hundred metres above Elia Beach on the south coast of Mykonos. Elia is one of the longest and most attractive beaches on the island, and there is a section reserved for hotel guests, with complimentary sunbeds and umbrellas.
A free shuttle service to Mykonos Town runs until 1am each day, which is a real selling point since taxis can be difficult to come by. The town is where you’ll find the island’s liveliest nightlife, including plenty of LGBT-friendly venues, plus the upscale restaurants and bars of Little Venice.
Cultural attractions include the fascinating Archaeological Museum in Mykonos Town and the nearby island of Delos, which is well worth the short boat trip for its colourful mosaics, well-preserved villas and the famous Terrace of the Lions.
Each of the 64 rooms, suites and villas opens onto a private balcony or terrace with sublime sea views. You’ll enjoy in-room tech including an LED satellite TV, WiFi and Bluetooth speaker, and some rooms also have a gorgeous hand-crafted stone bathtub. It’s worth paying extra for a room with a private pool or outdoor Jacuzzi, and larger groups should consider the opulent Grand Majestic Villa, which offers up to five bedrooms and a large infinity pool.
The amazing Thalasso Spa Centre includes a steam bath, heated indoor pool and beauty salon, with treatments by the likes of Elemis and Kerstin Florian. There is also a fitness centre, various watersports and a hotel concierge that can arrange excursions, yacht charters and helicopter rental.
The Pavilion Restaurant is a member of the prestigious Relais & Châteaux, with a mouthwatering menu of Greek and Mediterranean dishes making ample use of fresh local fish and seafood. There’s also a café-bar next to the infinity pool, where you can grab a coffee or a cocktail and enjoy the picture postcard views.

Myconian Utopia is in a great location next to Elia Beach; not only is this one of the prettiest beaches on the island, it’s also one of the most popular with the LGBT community. Mykonos has been a renowned gay-friendly destination since the 1970s, when artist Pierro Aversa opened his now legendary cocktail bar, Pierro’s. Although the island is known for its hedonistic party scene, there is something here for LGBT travellers of all descriptions, from couples and solo travellers to families and groups of friends.
How to get here...
British Airways and EasyJet fly direct from London to Mykonos. Flight time is approximately 4 hours.
The hotel is on the southern part of the island, situated overlooking Elia Beach, around 25-30 minutes’ drive from Mykonos airport.
Car hire is a good option if you want to explore the quieter corners of the island, though it’s very easy to get around using taxis and buses.
