Brown TLV Urban Hotel

Tel Aviv - Israel

Brown TLV is a fabulous little boutique hotel at the heart of cosmopolitan Tel Aviv, with a cool ‘70s-inspired vibe and a fantastic roof terrace.

Rooms are cosy but stylishly appointed, with a warm colour palette of chocolate browns and Italian black marble. Relax and unwind after a busy day exploring with a massage in the spa suite, or soak up the sun in the Jacuzzi up on the rooftop.

The fantastic location puts you at the centre of Tel Aviv’s buzzing nightlife scene, and it’s only a short walk to the sun-kissed shores of the Mediterranean. Tel Aviv is far and away the most LGBT-friendly city in the Middle East, and Brown TLV embraces the city’s reputation for tolerance and progressive thinking, offering a warm welcome to all guests.

Nearby Attractions

Brown TLV is on the edge of Neve Tzedek, a fashionable neighbourhood with a village-like atmosphere and beautiful buildings that date back to the late 19th century. A little further to the south is bohemian Florentin, full of cool little bars and cafés.

The hotel is also a few minutes’ walk from the striking Bauhaus architecture of Rothschild Boulevard and the upmarket Lev Halr district, where you’ll find plenty of chic boutiques along the leafy streets. For a different shopping experience head to the bustling Carmel Market, Tel Aviv’s largest traditional shuk.

It’s a 10-minute walk from the hotel to the beach, where Tel Aviv’s Mediterranean vibe is at its strongest. Hilton Beach is the most popular beach among the local LGBT community, easily identifiable by the rainbow flags and umbrellas.

There are just 30 rooms at the Brown TLV, compact in size but with all the amenities you would expect from a boutique hotel, including an LCD TV, free WiFi and safe. Some rooms also have a balcony, and there are a limited number of rooms designed specifically for solo travellers.

A small spa suite offers revitalising treatments and invigorating massages, and hotel guests enjoy complimentary access to a nearby gym, 3 minutes’ walk from the hotel.

The sunny rooftop deck is the real highlight, where you can relax in the Jacuzzi or enjoy a massage in the sun. The hotel also hosts regular art and design pop-up shops, where you can buy unique pieces from local artists. The hotel doesn’t have a restaurant, but breakfast can be included and would be taken at your choice of four popular local cafés, all within easy walking distance. Light snacks are available at the Garden Bar, an indoor-outdoor space which also does great cocktails. The Living Room is a cosy lounge with soft lighting and a retro feel, where you can enjoy a coffee, log on to the free WiFi or peruse the shelves of the library.

Tel Aviv & Jaffa

Tel Aviv is actually a pretty new city, originally founded in 1909 on the outskirts of Jaffa, an ancient port that dates back to the time of the Old Testament. Tel Aviv’s modern metropolis has swallowed up Jaffa, but the sandstone labyrinth of the Old City resonates with a history that is absent in much of modern Tel Aviv. Jaffa is still a mixed community of Jews, Christians and Muslims, and the cobbled streets are full of hip galleries, cafés and flea markets.
