Brighton Harbour Hotel & Spa

Brighton - United Kingdom

Summary

The Great British seaside gets a chic and contemporary makeover at this gorgeous boutique hotel, just steps from the beach and Brighton’s iconic pier.

The Brighton Harbour Hotel’s elegant 19th century façade conceals a fresh and funky interior, with bright and well-appointed rooms, a fabulous underground spa and an excellent restaurant specialising in locally sourced seafood. There’s a fun and friendly vibe, with cute little touches like complimentary decanters of gin and sherry in every room.

The prime seafront location means you’re close to all of Brighton’s top sights, and the helpful staff are on hand if you need any recommendations on what to do or where to eat. LGBT travellers are assured of a warm welcome, as you would expect in this famously gay-friendly city, and the bars and clubs of Kemptown are only a short seaside stroll away.

Nearby Attractions

The hotel is diagonally opposite Brighton Pier, and there’s plenty of good old-fashioned seaside fun to be had on the rides and amusement arcades. If the weather behaves you’ve also got the beach just across the road.

The quirky boutiques of the Lanes are a short walk away, as is the Royal Pavilion, the extraordinary orientalist fantasy palace built for King George IV. There are also plenty of great restaurants and bars nearby, as well as the lively nightlife of Kemptown, Brighton’s gay quarter.

The seafront’s newest attraction is the British Airways i360 observation tower, which is visible from just about everywhere and offers great views of Brighton and the South Downs.

Description

There are just 79 rooms, decorated in a simple and contemporary style with a subtle hint of seaside chic. Many have sea views, and range from the exceedingly cosy ‘cabin style’ bunkbed rooms to the spacious Corner Suites, some of which have a rolltop bath in the bedroom. In-room amenities include a flatscreen TV, WiFi, safe, White Company toiletries and tea/coffee making facilities.

The fantastic underground HarSpa includes a sauna, steam room, Scandinavian hot tubs and a hydrotherapy pool, with an enticing menu of treatments using ESPA products.

The Jetty Restaurant offers a seafood-centric menu with a focus on seasonal and locally sourced ingredients, and enjoys lovely views of the seafront. HarBAR is a stylish spot for pre-dinner drinks, with an excellent cocktail menu and wine list, and also serves light bites and sharing platters.

British Airways i360

The British Airways i360 is a 161-metre observation tower that stands tall over Brighton’s seafront, created by the people behind the London Eye. To many locals it’s an eyesore, but there’s no denying that the views from the top are magnificent, stretching as far as Beachy Head and the Isle of Wight on a clear day. There’s also a bar at the top where you can enjoy locally produced tipples including Nyetimber sparkling wine, Brighton Gin and beers from Harvey Brewery.
